The challenge for the second half of life is to choose between weathering well into spiritual elderhood or simply ageing and becoming elderly.

“Weathering. Patina, gloss, and whorl.
The trunk of the almond tree, gnarled but still fruitful.
Weathering is what I would like to do well.”

from  ‘Weathering ‘ by Alastair Reid

Thresholds and gates are sacred spaces of encounter and universal symbols of life transitions. This 5-day workshop invites you to engage with the tasks and challenges at each gate that enable us to transition into a well-weathered life. Our shared task will be to explore the perennial wisdom of the sages as found in cultural anthropology and religious philosophy through the use of gracious conversation, poetry, movement and personal reflection. Grace, curiosity, relinquishment, self-acceptance, authenticity, kindness and gratitude are just a few of the gifts that emerge along the way.

Led by Nancy Adams — “who lives increasingly out of a place of gratitude for the ageless wisdom teachers of silence, nature, music, poetry and storytelling.”
