Stretch Marks – Easter reveals the nature of God’s love – stretching, touching, surprising, opening our mind, heart and spirit.

As together we contemplate the manner in which Jesus lived the last week of his life we may be drawn into a deeper knowing of the nature of divine love: the paradox of strength in humility, inner peace in the midst of conflict, the stretching, suffering  of the cross, and the birthing of new life through  death into resurrection.

Janet will explore the ‘stretch marks’ of the spiritual challenge to ‘be in the world but not of it’. Using a mandala, we will explore how our human experiences, when fully engaged with, are gateways to our personal transformation.  We will especially be reflecting on the wounds Jesus experienced during his passion, leading to resurrection in the life of the divine.

This retreat will include some introductory reflections from Ruth and Janet each day. There will be times of group meditation, sharing, and silence; with time set aside too, for individual reflection, rest or walks.

The retreat will start with supper together at 6.30 pm on Maundy Thursday, April 18th and  end after lunch on Sunday 21st April.
