Silence is God’s first language;
everything else is a poor translation.
In order to hear this language
we must learn to be still and rest in God.
Centering Prayer is a receptive method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer: prayer in which we rest gently, silently and openly in God’s presence within us.
During the day there will be opportunities to learn about the origin of centering prayer, its foundation and method,
as well as periods in which to practice it together.
Ruth Flockhart and Teresia Hasanova, having been practising Centering Prayer for many years themselves, received training in teaching this method from Contemplative Outreach London in 2016.
Teresia initiated and leads centering prayer groups in Prague and elsewhere in Czechia
Ruth is an Anglican priest and the Co-Ordinator of the Coach House Retreat centre.
