Exploring the Essence of Religion   July 28th to 1st August, 2008

This explorative week intends to offer  opportunities to go beyond the outward form of religion; moving from religion as an idea to religion as an experience. Drawing on the 'big five' (Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam) religious traditions; the retreat will be made up of giving a taste of what these ancient paths teach.

Ultimately it is to go beyond ideas and words to 'reality' itself.

The retreat will be led by the Rev Dominic (Dom) Ind who spent six years studying religion at Lancaster University and Ridley Hall, Cambridge as well as studying Hinduism in India and Zen in  Japan. For two years Dom was a member of the First Order of The Society of St. Francis and as an Anglican Franciscan became immersed in Spirituality and started leading retreats. Since then Dom has led retreats in Scotland and England and gives Spiritual Direction.
